Hello, and welcome!
My name is Jeff, and along with my wife, Sarah, we run Family Tent Life.
We decided to start Family Tent Life as a way to document our camping adventures with our two sons. We thought it would be great to share everything we’ve learned along the way with others, like you.
Growing up, I used to go camping at local parks pretty regularly throughout the summer. It was something I always looked forward to. Aside from the mosquitoes, it was always a great experience, and I have many fond memories of camping with my friends.
Sarah, on the other hand, didn’t camp at all as a child, but it’s something she says she wishes she would have done. Since she feels like she missed out, she wants to make sure our two young boys don’t miss out on these great experiences as well.
While I have plenty of tent-camping experience, camping with your friends after you’ve reached the legal driving age is nothing like camping with two small children.
Not only do we have to keep them safe from the elements and animals, but we have to keep them entertained as well. Ideally, we want them to learn from their camping experiences and take these lessons home with them to use in other areas of their lives.
Camping with a family involves a lot of preparation and patience and also requires you to be aware of your surroundings and situation at any given time. Until you’ve done it a few times, you’ll want to make sure you plan ahead before heading to a campground.
With Family Tent Life, our goal is to not only document the things we’ve learned while spending time in the great outdoors, but also to help you to avoid the mistakes we’ve made along the way.
You’ll find articles on planning games and activities for your children, camping in poor weather, keeping your children safe, and even camping while you’re pregnant.
Most articles on this site focus on camping as a family, but many articles apply to camping in general as well.
Our hope is to keep adding valuable content to this site as we spend more and more time outdoors and learn new things, so check back frequently for new articles.
We appreciate you taking the time out of your day to stop by, and we hope you’re able to learn something new from Family Tent Life.
Thanks for visiting, and happy camping!
